Going someplace on vacation can be a lot of fun, but it doesn't negate your need to take care of yourself. Even if the rules are a bit laxer while on holiday, it doesn't mean that your teeth can be neglected.
Maintaining Your Oral Health on Vacation
Before you head out for the day, no matter what paradise your vacation is in, make sure you brush your teeth. If you are not going to be near wherever you are staying, make sure you pick foods that aren't going to get stuck to your teeth between you eat them and when you can brush again.
If you are nearby, then when you are done eating, go back to where you are staying and brush quick. Each night, make sure just before bed you brush and floss your teeth really well.
During the day, make sure to drink as much water as you can to help keep your teeth clean. Plus, make sure that you are avoiding excess alcohol as that can do a lot of harm to the tissues in your mouth.
If you are going to be gone for a significant amount of time, you should visit your dentist before you head out. They can look at your mouth, give you a full exam, get your teeth clean, and make sure that your mouth is as ready for the vacation as you are. It may be relaxing for you, but it can wreak havoc on your mouth if you do not take care of it properly.
